Venerable Menas lived in asceticism for fifty-nine years in the Monastery of Sinai, where he died peacefully in the second half of the sixth century, a week before Saint John Climacus departed the monastery to live in a cave. Myrrh flowed from his holy relics, which was noticed three days after his death.
